Mamata Deserves True Praise To Keep Children Free From Violence- City Corporation23-12-2021
Under the project of Mamata entitled: ‘Children are protected from violence’ a workshop was held on December 23, at the Chattogram City Corporation Auditorium on the achievement and future perspectives of the project. Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Shahidul Alam was the chief guest at the workshop chaired by the Deputy chief executive of Mamata Md. Fareuque. Afroza Kalam, Panel Mayor & Councilor of CCC spoke as the guest of honor at the workshop which started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Teachers, students, members of the Child Protection Committee, and parents of 15 educational institutions of Chittagong City Corporation were also present at the workshop of the project conducted with the support of Save the Children International in Bangladesh. CCC Councilor Md. Nazmul Haque Duke, Councilor Jasmine Parveen Jesse, Councilor Hure Ara Beauty, Councilor Taslima Nur Jahan Ruby, Headmaster of Tigerpass Multipurpose High School Mozammel Haque, and Md. Iqbal spoke at the workshop. Member of the community-based child protection committee Nazrul Islam Manik, Md. Ibrahim Faraizi and Md. Mainuddin etc also expressed their views. Senior Director of Mamata, Swapna Talukder spoke a welcome speech at the workshop. The workshop featured a short video of Mamata, a presentation on the achievements of Child Protection from violence, and a future perspectives review. Jhinu Parveen, a child of Sundabi Para Child space and Md. Rashed, a student of Agrabad Government Boys' High School expressed their feelings in an open discussion on children's participation. Among others Director of Mamata Subrata Barua, Iqbal Al-Mahmood, Priyatosh Das and others were present at the workshop. Speaking as the chief guest, Chittagong City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Shahidul Alam said, ‘We all need to be more aware to get out of the mentality of punishing children.’ Mamata deserves true praise for the way it is working to keep children free from violence in the Chittagong City Corporation area. He assured that the city corporation would extend all possible cooperation through coordination to ensure that Mamata's activities continue.
